Shopify Inventory Locations & Transfers
Within Shopify you can have inventory at multiple locations. For example, we may have some at our warehouse, and you may also have some in your local store, or at your corporate office. We ideally want to sync inventory just to our location so it matches in Shopify and Shiphero. If this isn't setup properly then Shiphero will override the inventory for SKUs that we do not have, with zero. Here's how to correct this:
1. Login to Shopify, go to Settings > Locations
2. Next, ensure that you have at least one location in there. At the very least it should be ShipLab and that would mean that ShipLab holds all your inventory. Ensure the following details are set for the ShipLab location, and use your customer service phone number for the phone number. After this is done click save, and then click "View Inventory at this location."
3. That will bring you to a page that shows all SKUs which have been assigned to ShipLab's location. If these are all correct, then you're all set and good to go. Upon the next sync, Shiphero will sync over inventory to those SKUs at that location. However, if this is not correct then you will want to transfer the SKUs to the other location.
Transferring Inventory to Another Location In Shopify
1. On the "View Inventory" page you will want to select the box on the left hand side for the SKUs that should be transferred. This typically only applies to SKUs that have inventory showing within Shopify and ARE NOT within a ShipLab warehouse.
Note: When you create a product, the product's stocked at all locations. You can change the list of locations that stock the product and adjust the inventory levels of the product at each location, with the following constraints:
- You can’t unstock products from locations that have unfulfilled orders or transfers that require inventory of that product.
